Note: STUDENT EXPECTATIONS: Ingomar Middle School Science Eighth Grade

* Minimal homework is assigned for the preparation of upcoming topics, reinforcement of skills, and class projects. It will take about 20 minutes to a half hour to complete.

 

* Students will be given a weeks notice for upcoming projects with a rubric to inform students and parents of expectations.

* Students will be given advance notice on all tests and quizzes. All assignments are posted on class calendar, web site and on the board in front of classroom. If absent for a quiz or test it must be made up before school, after school or during activity period.

* All assignments will be written legibly and comprehensively.

* All assignments will be completed and turned in on time for full credit. If turned in the next day (50 %) of the grade. If the assignment is not turned in the second day, it will be a zero (0). Students will receive a zero (0) for a missed assignment. Effort by the teacher will be to inform students of late or missing assignments.

* Students are responsible to obtain and to make up missed work due to absence or for any other reason. Absent materials are available upon return. Students will have as many days absent plus one day to make up assignments. * Both parties involved in copying work will receive a zero.

HOMEWORK HEADING

* All assignments and class work will contain a heading including:

            Name    Date  Period    etc.

NOTEBOOKS

* A separate notebook/binder/ journal will be maintained for science.

GRADING POLICY

* Each student’s final grade will be determined by dividing the total points earned for the year by the possible points.

* Praise will be given for positive attitudes and work.
